Buddhist Museum

This is a three storied museum complex.  This has been designed to modern thoughts confirming the Buddhist identity avoiding the traditional museum aspect. Deposition of Buddha Images pertaining to Thailand, Burma, China, Japan, Korea and Singapore could be seen apart from the antiques.  About rupees 250 Million had been spent over the completion of this complex, with the receipt of domestic and foreign donations.

The designing, planning and architectural work is by Most Venerable Inamaluwe Sri sumangala Mahanayaka thera is of special significance.  This has created an increase of daily pilgrims and foreign tourists to Dambulla with this attractive and fascinating complex.
